Alberta Government Increases Maximum Rebate to $60,000.

Alberta Environment, in conjunction with the AMTA and Climate Change Central, has increased the maximum eligibility for each company to $60,000. The previous maximum was $30,000.

The Government Rebate Program has been well received within the trucking industry and carriers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible because all equipment and devices must be purchased by December 31, 2012. The program ends December 31, 2011 or until funds have been used.

The afternoon of Friday, April 29, will be devoted to an industry “Green”” Session and will feature a panel discussion with experts on methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions ,( fuel savings). Everything from single wide tires to telemetrics, bio fuels, idling and managing programs and training will be discussed. This will be followed with a Q&A session with the panelists. Everyone attending the annual meeting is welcome!

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REBATE PROGRAM

Environment Minister Rob Renner announced on May 31, 2010 the Alberta Government, in partnership with Climate Control Central, will spend up to $2,000,000 over the next 18 months to assist commercial vehicle operators adopt fuel efficient and aerodynamic technologies to reduce green house gas emissions. The program is designed specifically to assist operators by offering rebates on purchases up to $30,000 per company.
